Rules for Use of the Pool

Pool is for the use of Chadds Ford Homeowners Association Recreation Members who are in good standing and their guests only. A keyless entry system will be used.

  • Residents who are not recreational members may not be a guest at the pool.
  • All pool guests must be accompanied by a Chadds Ford Recreational member. Guest must leave the facility with the member.
  • A lifeguard is provided for your protection during specified hours.  The lifeguard has complete authority.
  • You must get out of the water during any thunder or lightening.  It is required that you not return to the pool for at least 30 minutes after the last sign of lightening or thunder.
  • Standard Cobb County Health and Safety rules will be enforced at all times. 
  • Proper bathing attire must be worn.
  • Children under 3 are not permitted in the pool unless accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Non-potty trained children must wear a swim diaper and a rubber pant over the diaper while swimming.
  • Children between the ages of 12 through 15 may visit the pool without being accompanied by an adult at the discretion of the lifeguard.  This person must pass a swim test of being able to swim 2 laps of the pool without stopping, and be able to tread water for 2 minutes.
  • Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult or by a qualified swimmer 18 years of age and older.
  • Only qualified swimmers are allowed in the deep end of the pool.
  • Unqualified swimmers must stay in the shallow end, unless accompanied by an adult in the deep end.
  • No running or pushing in the pool area.
  • No chewing gum in the pool area.
  • No smoking, chewing tobacco or glass in the pool area.
  • No pets allowed in the pool area.
  • No skateboarding, rollerblading, scootersor bikes allowed in the pool area.
  • No tennis balls in the pool area.  Pool appropriate balls may be used; however, if young children are in the shallow end, ball throwing must be moved to the deep end.
  • No squirt guns of any size in the pool area.
  • No eating or drinking 5 feet from the pool's edge.
  • Lifeguard stand is off limits to everyone except the lifeguard. No sitting with or unnecessary talking with lifeguards while on duty.  No diving or jumping from the lifeguard stand.
  • Only one person at a time on the diving board and the area beneath the diving board must be cleared before diving or jumping. Diving is only allowed in the deep end of the pool.
  • No hanging on the diving board or rope in the pool.
  • Adults playing tennis may not leave underage children unsupervised in the pool area.
  • Swim at your own risk ages and rules:
    • Adult (must be 21 years and older) to be in the pool from the hours of 8:00 a.m. -10:00 a.m.  There cannot be anyone under the age of 21 in the pool area even with an adult.
    • Hour of 10:00 a.m. -8:00 p.m. No children under the age of 18 are allowed to be unsupervised.  A homeowner or responsible adult 18 years of age or older must be present supervising family members.
  • All pool rules and regulations must be adhered to.
  • Pool area must remain clean.  Food, drinks and trash must be properly disposed of and turn out the lights.
  • All pool parties/functions with 10 or more guests must be reserved 2 weeks in advance with the pool manager.  Unscheduled parties will be subjected to a $100.00 fine. We will be assessed this fine from the pool company. Under no circumstance will there be a party without a lifeguard on duty.
  • Rules will be amended as needed by the Board.
  • Recreational members are encouraged to assist in enforcing the above rules.

    Lifeguards·  

Lifeguards will initiate a ten minute adult (18 years and older) swim every hour on the hour.  Children may not run around on tennis courts, the courts are for tennis only. During these periods, parents/caregivers are responsible for their children.  All children under 18 years of age must be completely out of the pool which includes sitting on the steps or the edge of the pool.  

Disciplinary actions to be taken by lifeguards as follows:

  • 1st offense:  Verbal Warning
  • *2nd offense:  Sit out of the poolfor minimum of 15 minutes.
  • *3rd offense: Sent home for the remainder of the day.
  • When a child is sent home, he/she will be given a note from the lifeguard describing the behavior that warranted his/her expulsion.  This note must be signed by a parent and returned to the lifeguard before the child can return to the pool.

Rules for Use of the Tennis Courts

Tennis courts are for the use of Chadds Ford Recreation members and their guests ONLY! A member must accompany their guest(s) on the court.

  • Proper tennis shoes and attire are required for play. 
  • Children under 8 years of age must be supervised by an adult.
  • Tennis courts are for tennis practice and play only.
    • No roller blades, roller skates or bicycles are permitted on the courts.
    • No food or toys are permitted on the courts.  
    • No animals are allowed on the courts
  • All court time shall be reserved. Courts may be reserved up to one week in advance. If you have made a reservation more than a week in advance, you are subject to being bumped. Match play, team lessons and scheduled team practices by Chadds Ford recreational teams are exempted (see item below on lessons).
    • Court time shall be forfeited after a 10 minute wait. If you find you cannot make the time you reserved please erase your name as soon as you are aware of it.
    • Singles play shall be limited to I½ hours of reserved court time. Doubles play shall be limited to 2 hours of reserved court time. If signing up for less time, please indicate by drawing an arrow to the time you wish to play to.
    • No member of a singles or doubles pairs shall reserve consecutive time on either court.
    • Chadds Ford teams may reserve one court for weekly practice on a standing basis.  This must be approved by the Board of Governors Tennis Committee Chairman to avoid conflicts.
  • Juniors (8-17 years of age)
    • Juniors shall be allowed sign-up privileges on all weekdays. They must yield to adults after 5:30 p.m.
    • Juniors may use the courts at any other time, but must yield to adults when requested.
    • Last name must be followed by JR. when entering name on sign-up board.
  • Chadds Ford Homeowners Association Recreation members may form recreational (ALTA, USTA, and etc.) tennis teams.
    • All team rosters must be made up of at least 50% Chadds Ford Homeowners Association Recreation members. 
    • Residents of Chadds Ford and Chadds Creek must be Chadds Ford Homeowners association recreation members.
    • Recreational team rosters shall be made available to the Board of Governors Tennis Committee Chairman when requested.
    • All recreational teams playing out of Chadds Ford must post the dates of their team’s home matches on the bulletin board adjacent to the court reservation board. This constitutes a reservation for the courts for those times and dates.
    • Individual matches of recreational teams or leagues (T-2 tennis, KSwiss, ALTA or USTA makeups, and etc.) shall adhere to court reservation rules.
  • The Board of Governors shall have the authority to reserve the tennis courts for Association sponsored activities.
  • Private lessons may be given to Chadds Ford Homeowners Association Recreation member.
    • Lessons for individuals must adhere to court reservation rules.
    • Lesson times for recurring lessons may be guaranteed for Chadds Ford recreational teams as provided in 5.d. above.
    • Members from outside Chadds Ford/Chadds Creek may participate may participate with Chadds Ford Homeowners Association Recreation teams when participating in team lessons.
  • The lights should be turned off when everyone playing on the courts is finished with their games. Example: If you are signed up for 9:00 p.m. till 10:30 p.m. and no one else is on the courts please turn the lights OFF when you leave.
  • The Board of Governors shall have the authority to determine abuse of the above rules. Abuse of rules will jeopardize privileges.
  • Chadds Ford Homeowners Association Recreation members are encouraged to assist in enforcing the above rules.
